Untold centuries ago the Vadrigar, the mysterious Arena Masters, constructed the Arena Eternal for their own infernal amusement. Virtually nothing is known of these beings except that they savor the carnage and clamor of battle. As such, they have stocked the arena with the greatest warriors of all time - and you have just joined their ranks.
When the dust, blood, and gibs settle, all warriors will have earned the right to battle again, providing further entertainment for the Vadrigar. But only the warrior who has fragged the most foes will be lauded as the winner. The victorious gladiator advances to a more challenging array of arenas, until, at last, he or she faces Xaero, Lord of the Final Arena.
Quake 3 Arena Generator
The Gladiators who populate the arena eternal are not happy to be here to begin with. Climbing up their hierarchy will pit the player against the arena lords of certain tiers by order. Arena Lords are particularly dangerous foes who have distinguishing traits, aggression and tastes. Player will finally climb the ranks just to face and vanquish the last arena lord at final tier, to release him free from the eternity he shackled within'.
Now you can get fancy and set up all kinds of stuff with your server config file. But if you want to start anon-dedicated server from a windows shortcut, the command line looks basically like what I have below. Keep in mind, you'll need to use NotePad or anothertext file editor to create a server config file with all the settings you want. In this example, I've named it myserver.cfg"C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe" +exec myserver.cfg
To customize your server, you'll need this config file. The quake server execution commands above will also include anexec of the specified config file. So it will load your settings for any type of game you've specified in the config. Geez, this all sounds soconfusing!!!
net_ipIf you are on a multi-homed server and the default IP is not what you want to use for your Quake 3 server, the net_ip command will need to be used. Thismust be set on the command line in the following form.Usage: +set net_ip "youripaddressgoeshere"Sample: quake3.exe +set dedicated 1 +set net_ip 192.168.0.0
net_portChanging the default server port requires the net_port command be run on the command line. It is useful for running multiple servers on the same computeror making the server somewhat more private. The default port is 27960 and is incremented automatically by 1 if another server is started without aspecified port.Usage: +set net_port "portnumbergoeshere"Sample: quake3.exe +set dedicated 1 +set net_port 27961
Gravity Manipulation (Acceleration Pads use a powerful artificial gravitational field to impart lateral thrust to anyone who step on it), Smoke Manipulation (Can contain normal fog or a special kind of fog called "Fog of Death". swirling crimson vapors that are highly caustic and faintly radioactive. They dissolve flesh and will quickly kill anyone, regardless of armor or other protection), Acid Manipulation, Radiation Manipulation, Durability Negation, Portal Creation with Gates and Vortex Portals, Magma Manipulation (Can contain streams and pools of lava), Adhesive Manipulation (Some areas have "slime", a green ooze that is highly acidic and consumes flesh at an incredible rate), Voids (Areas in the arena, if The Vadrigar so desire, can have all-consuming voids. The Arena Eternal contains void of endless depths), Water, Teleportation (Teleporters allow Gladiators to instantly travel from one point to the other), Creation and Weapon Creation (Supplies the warriors within it with ammo, armor, weapons, health items and power-ups), Life Energy Sealing (In Harvester, the arena has Skull Generators which are machines that encapsulate the life energy of fallen Gladiators in glowing crystal skulls), Crystal Manipulation
Armor (There are three types of armor available in the Arena Eternal; Armor Shards, Combat Armor and Heavy Armor), Healing (The Arena Eternal has various health items called "crosses" that vary in how many health points it gives to the user. Each green cross gives the user five points, even beyond the user's maximum. Yellow crosses add twenty-five points, its maximum rating is one-hundred. Gold crosses add fifty health points, also maxing out at one-hundred. Medkits contain a wide array of healing and pain-killing chemicals. When activated, its computer brain diagnoses the user's injuries and instantly restores the gladiator to full health), Teleportation via Spatial Manipulation (Personal teleporters are small units with the ability to fold space around the user. When activated, it instantly transports the user to a random point in the arena)
Gravity Manipulation (The Flight Pack is a small anti-gravity generator that allows the gladiator to propel themselves through the air with minimal effort), Regeneration (Regeneration is a power-up that when grabbed will gradually increase the health of the user until it reaches two-hundreds or the effect times out. Guard gives the user an immediate health and armor boost to two-hundreds points. In addition, the gladiator's health points will constantly regenerate, slowly creeping back to its newly elevated level. Although the warrior's armor won't regenerate, it can be maintained up to the two-hundred-point mark), Statistics Amplification (Quad Damage supercharges the power of the user's weapons by four times. Double Damage multiplies the damage caused by the user. Doubler doubles the amount of damage done by each hit the user can score, this effect can be combined with the Quad Damage. Haste is a tachyon accelerator that creates a bubble of compressed time around the user, greatly increasing the movement and attack speed of the user. Double Haste is twice as powerful as Haste. Scout drastically increases the movement and attack speed of the user, albeit at the cost of being unable to wear any armor), Damage Boost, Healing (MegaHealth is a power-up that gives the user one-hundred points, even beyond the maximum of the user), Forcefield Creation and Damage Reduction (The Battle Suit is a golden force-field that cancels out damage from natural hazards/hostile conditions as well as splash damage from weapons. However, it won't protect the user from the Fog of Death or the Void), Invisibility via Light Manipulation (The Invisibility power-up bends light around the user, making them difficult to see. But muzzle flashes and power-up glows are still fully visible), Flight (The Flight power-up allows the user to fly), Invulnerability (Invulnerability in Quake III Revolution makes the owner impervious to anything the other combatants - or nature - can throw at them for a brief period of time. Invulnerability in Quake III Team Arena is a power-up that creates an almost impenetrable shield of crackling, magenta energy, with the downside that it freezes the warrior in place), Self-Destruction and Shockwave Generation (Kamikaze is an armageddon-style weapon that when detonated will annihilate the user and every other being in the arena. It also creates a tremendous shockwave that's likely to take out everyone near the explosion), Time Manipulation (Haste is a tachyon accelerator that creates a bubble of compressed time. Double Haste likely has the same effect but enhanced), Density Manipulation, Ammo Generation (Ammo-Regen slowly replenishes ammunition of the carrier until they reach max ammo)
Powers relevant to the Arena Eternal; Reality Warping, Spatial Manipulation and Higher-Dimensional Manipulation (The Arena Master has full control over the arena's architecture), Resurrection (Those who die in the arena are instantly restored to life and immediately thrust back into the battle, as The Vadrigar won't be cheated of their favorite sport by a little thing called death), BFR (Teleported Sarge into the Arena Eternal, likely got the other warriors in the arena the same way. If the gladiators somehow leave the fighting area, such as falling into the Void, they will be teleported back in by The Vadrigar), Soul Manipulation (Said to have control over the souls of those in the arena), Omnipresence
Note 1: The "Frag Limit" is the max amount of kills that one gladiator must reach in order to win. This Frag Limit can be placed anywhere between one and one-hundreds, but the Frag Limit can be removed if set to zero. In most gamemodes, this is how you win a battle in the arena. If a person dies in the arena, they will be resurrected by The Vadrigar so that the fighting can continue.
ericw-tools converts: quake, quake2, valve, bp (brush primitives). Conversions to "quake" or "quake2" format may not be able to match the texture alignment in the source map, other conversions are lossless.
Some changes were made to this original layout, mainly touches with item placement. The Statue room now holds teamed powerup: Regeneration with Quad Damage. The power distribution pipe room contains a Plasmagun and a teleporter, unlike the original which is home to only a Rocketlauncher. Power generator guards Red Armor.
Besides the original paths, some new ones were added with a drop-down to the original ones. This map could be considered a Pro conversion of the original Tourney map. From the statue there is a path with stairs leading to a Grenade Launcher sitting above the original path. The new path continues to the Yellow Armor corridor and further going to a hall with a drop-down to the power distribution room. One end is terminated and the other has stairs down to the original path to the power generator RA room, which has a new third path to Railgun above the original path on the opposite direction.
Rocket Launcher and Plasmagun allow for simple trick-jumping for quicker navigation. Rocket boosts can get you quickly to the higher platform to new paths as well as a well placed Plasma jump. Rocket jumps are not recommended in this kind of map as there is no high elevation in the map and camping is not possible as sst13 implemented pretty neat anti-camp hurting feature to possible camping spots in highest places (power generator and distribution pipes). 2ff7e9595c
